Sidney Township Sanitary System

This project included the construction of a new $5.3 million sanitary collection/treatment system to service homes around Derby and Nevins Lakes in Montcalm County. Spicer Group was responsible for providing the design and overseeing the installation of 6.8 miles of new HDPE low-pressure main and pump station force main, installation of 242 grinder cans, construction of a main lift station, and major improvements to the lagoon system. The county purchased the old, leaking lagoon system from the Montcalm Community College. The lagoon cells were modified and lined and a third lagoon cell was added. New influent, effluent and transfer structures were constructed along with a Lagoon Pump Station. This Lagoon Pump Station is equipped with pumps, piping, valves, and metering that provides water to a spray irrigation system. The new system now provides a quality sanitary collection and treatment system for the homes surrounding Derby and Nevins Lakes.
