Waldo Avenue Reconstruction

The completed Waldo Avenue project included revitalizing an urban roadway crucial for industrial and residential areas. This rehabilitation initiative covered a stretch from Saginaw Road to Bay City Road. Enhancements included sidewalk upgrades, traffic signals, and resurfacing.

The project focused on comprehensive roadway improvements, encompassing traffic signal upgrades, with a new signal at Salzburg Road and the addition of right turn lane signals at strategic intersections for smoother traffic flow. Structural enhancements involved the integration of new steel strain poles and foundations at key junctions, accompanied by the replacement of overhead wires with modern mast arms.

The resurfacing effort transformed approximately 1300 feet of road south of Bay City Road, replacing concrete curb and gutter sections along with select driveway segments and sidewalk ramps at intersections. Additionally, Spicer Group addressed the complexity of two railroad crossings, notably a Lake State Railway facility 1400 feet north of Saginaw Road.

Spicer Group's involvement spanned diverse engineering facets, encompassing design, survey, traffic management, project oversight, and communication services. The multifaceted approach ensured a comprehensive and impactful rehabilitation of Waldo Avenue, significantly enhancing its functionality and safety for the surrounding area.
