Stockwell Road Rehabilitation and Restoration

Stockwell Road in Clare County near Harrison is a rural 2-lane road that stretches around 5.5 miles. It was aggregate surfaced from Old State Ave to Harrison Ave and Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) from Harrison Ave to US-127 BR. The Clare County Road Commission hired Spicer Group to provide as-needed engineering and design services and coordinate with the Managing Director and Engineering Technician on the Stockwell Road Resurfacing and Rehabilitation Project. The project included aggregate road grade corrections, base conditioning, HMA overlay, trenching, ditching, and permanent pavement markings along a 3.1-mile section of Stockwell Road from Old State Ave to US-127 BR. Restoration of the road allowed for an increase in average daily traffic. The project was finished in the summer of 2022. The project required an EGLE permit for work along a wetland.
