Lapeer Avenue from 2nd to 6th Street Road Design

Spicer Group coordinated and consulted on Section 106 for the City of Saginaw's Lapeer Avenue project, covering 2nd to 6th Avenues. The work included archeological and architectural consultations, submitting the Section 106 application, and preparing various maps and photos of the site. Field reviews, shovel tests, and research at the SHPO office were also completed.

Lapeer Avenue, a 25-mph urban road with residential, commercial, and educational properties, underwent reconstruction which included upgraded sidewalk ramps for ADA compliance, and replacing water mains along both streets, while the mainline storm sewer remained intact. The existing traffic signal at Cass Street and Michigan Avenue was not upgraded, however, pavement issues like raveling, cracks, and potholes were addressed, with varying widths between streets and parking allowed on the south side. Spicer Group provided professional engineering and construction oversight throughout the project.
