City of Flushing Seymour Road

The Seymour Road project focused on enhancing a 0.17-mile stretch in the City of Flushing. The project involved HMA cold milling and resurfacing, sidewalk improvements, drainage upgrades, permanent signage, and pavement markings.

Collaboration between the City of Flushing and the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission led to its inclusion in the Transportation Improvement Plan. Discussions at county open houses and city council meetings highlighted its importance within the community.

Spanning from Pierson Road to Emily Street, Seymour Road serves as a crucial urban collector, necessitating rehabilitation. The plan included HMA cold milling and asphalt pavement while maintaining a two-lane structure without curbs and gutters along with upgrades to sidewalk ramps at Emily Street ensuring compliance with ADA standards.

The project replaced a catch basin and cross culvert, with a possible addition of another catch basin to bolster drainage. Spicer Group provided comprehensive design engineering services, improving Seymour Road’s functionality and infrastructure.
