Putnam Street Reconstruction
Putnam Street runs through the heart of the City of Williamston and is classified as a major street and urban major collector. Spicer Group was hired by the City to provide design engineering services to rehabilitate 1,600 feet of the roadway from W. Riverside Street to Bismark Street in Williamston.
This work consisted of removing current asphalt and concrete pavement and replacing curb and gutter and sidewalk. It also included the replacement of storm sewer, water main, and sanitary sewer. The road reconstruction design also included the addition of a bicycle lane on the roadway. Spicer Group also provided survey, permitting, utility coordination, and traffic management services for this project. In 2024, Spicer will also provide construction engineering, inspection, testing, and administration services. This project is funded through the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) using Tri-County Regional Planning Commission Funds and Local Funds. It is also part of MDOT’s Local Agency Program.
