City of Charlevoix Recreation Planning

Spicer Group provided professional planning services for the City of Charlevoix for a comprehensive parks and recreation master plan in 2017. Spicer Group worked with the City to help establish new goals that would provide quality recreational opportunities for its citizens and guide the development of recreation facilities. Data was collected about the City of Charlevoix, including demographics, natural features inventory, and an inventory of the parks and facilities owned and operated by the City. This data was gathered from a number of resources, including City staff, the Recreation Advisory Committee, and research of aerial images. Three opportunities for input and participation were provided during the development of this Plan. Based upon the existing information and the public input, City staff and the Recreation Advisory Committee developed the goals for parks and recreation in the City of Charlevoix. The Recreation Advisory Committee also created an action program to accomplish the goals of the Plan.
