Finn Road Park

Finn Road Park in Hampton Township is one of the Township’s most popular parks with approximately 1,500 feet of Saginaw Bay/Lake Huron shoreline. It is a busy and popular facility with fishermen and campground users. The park features a campground, boat launch, and waterfront path. However, it had limited access to the water.

To increase access to the site’s rich water resources, the project team designed a walking path constructed of crushed stone and 300-feet of boardwalk to allow observation of coastal marsh land wildlife, a 20-foot observation tower to observe migratory birds, improvements to the launch, a new skid pier at the lagoon launch site, and accessible parking. The project also creates a trailhead for the Saginaw Bay Blueways Trail with interpretive signage. Amenities on the nature viewing platform include an interpretive sign, bench, and trash receptacle.

Spicer Group was responsible for the grant writing and administration, design, permitting, bidding assistance, survey, and construction administration for this project.
