Hazelton Township Master Plan

Hazelton Township, within Shiawassee County, hired Spicer Group to assist with their master plan zoning ordinance, and planning needs, separate from the County. This included work to analyze the Township and its residents, and to establish their needs to create goals for the community. Spicer Group took note of the Township’s demographics, economy, transportation and roads, trends, infrastructure, natural resources, and housing. This data was used as the basis for the master plan, zoning ordinance, and other land use regulations.

Public input was gathered through an online survey. This portion of the master plan was very important in order to gauge the residents’ thoughts on many aspects of the Township. Spicer Group made sure to promote engagement with the master plan project and to consider it when developing the Master Plan.
