Karn Weadock Utility Upgrades

​Spicer Group recently assisted Consumers Energy with designing and overseeing construction of upgrades to an existing water main and force main servicing the Karn Weadock Energy Generation Complex in Hampton Township. The original 8-inch water main, which provides drinking water to the complex from Hampton Township was abandoned in place, and a new 3,500-foot-section of 10-inch water main was installed. In addition, an existing 3,500-foot-section of 4-inch sanitary force-main, which provides sanitary services to the site, was replaced with new 6-inch HDPE line. Both the water main and force main were installed using mainly horizontal directional drilling.
