Euclid Road Rehabilitation
Spicer Group provided design engineering services for the Bay County Road Commission (BCRC) project funded through MDOT to rehabilitate S Euclid Road. The project stretched from Hotchkiss Road to Salzburg Road, approximately one mile long. The road reconstruction included new sand subbase, aggregate base, and asphalt pavement. It also included lane widening for the planned center left turn lane for the Michigan Sugar driveway and a dedicated southbound right turn lane. Curb and gutter were added along both sides of the road, and sidewalk replacement took place at all intersections. The existing storm sewer was replaced which involved railroad coordination with Huron & Eastern and Michigan Sugar railways.
The water main replacement for the project took place from Hotchkiss Road to Salzburg Road. A Hawk pedestrian traffic signal was added for the Michigan Sugar crosswalk, along with storm sewer captor systems for three outlets. Along with engineering, Spicer Group provided topographic survey and construction staking. The construction cost estimate for this project was $6,670,000.
