Middle Street Improvements

As one of the major streets in the City of Williamston, East Middle Street is home to commercial and residential properties. It had been experiencing pavement deterioration and drainage issues. Spicer Group provided professional engineering services to the City to design a replacement for more than 2,300 feet of roadway (which was constructed in two phases) that included replacement of existing water main, storms sewer, as well as sanitary sewer improvements and repairs, and manhole replacements. The road rehabilitation included HMA removal and reconstruction with a sand subbase, an aggregate base, and HMA surface. These improvements were designed to meet all AASHTO and MDOT standards. Spicer Group also provided full construction administration for the project, along with construction inspection services, materials testing and construction staking. This project was funded with MDOT Small Urban funds and bid out through the MDOT Local Agency Program process.
