US23 and M13 in Arenac County

Spicer Group provided full time inspection and testing services and engineering assistance to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for a project that included the reconfiguration of the US-23 and M-13 connector into am at-grade roundabout in the City of Standish. The project also included the demolition of an existing bridge at the US-23 and M-13 interchange and 6.40 miles of hot mix asphalt cold milling and two- course bituminous resurfacing along US-23 in Arenac County.

Over 90,000 tons of HMA was placed as part of the 6.4 miles of US-23 and 19 bridges were rehabilitated. That work included deck patching, epoxy overlay, joint replacement, railing replacement, deck replacement, beam end repair, full and partial painting, substructure repair, concrete surface coating and approach work. Spicer Group also provided project management services to MDOT for this project.
