Huron County Recreation Planning

Spicer Group has been assisting Huron County with their park planning for over 10 years. In 2009, Huron County’s five-year Recreation Plan had expired and in 2009, in an effort to keep Huron County grant-eligible the County hired Spicer to assist with developing a new five-year Recreation Plan. We worked with Huron County to develop a Community Description that discussed the social and physical characteristics of the County, along with the Administration Structure of the parks and recreation system in the County and how it is organized. The plan also included a Recreation Inventory that identified all County parks and trails, along with the amenities they offered.

Huron County has nine parks with camping at six of them. We have helped Huron County evaluate each of these parks’ uses, develop Recreation Plans, seek numerous grants and construct a variety of projects.
