Saginaw Valley Rail Trail Restroom
Spicer Group designed and oversaw construction of a new public restroom facility along the 12-mile-long Saginaw Valley Rail Trail for the Saginaw County Parks Department. This ADA-accessible restroom is very unique because it was constructed at the Swan Creek Road Access area for the Saginaw Valley Rail Trail. It sits about midway between the beginning of the trail at Stroebel Road and the Village of St. Charles. The restroom features a cedar tongue-and-groove ceiling and separate men’s and women’s bathrooms. The facility has lighting, water and features a special drinking fountain for pets that are being walked along the nearby trail. Visitors using the trail also enjoy the resting area that features picnic tables and a drinking fountain.
The Saginaw Valley Rail Trail is universally-accessible and boasts a fishing platform, wildlife viewing areas, parallel equestrian trail, and eight bridges—one of which stretches 141 feet over the Swan Creek. The trail also offers two pocket parks with pavilions and picnic tables, a trail eye, interpretive signs, and a midpoint trail parking area.
