Branch County Memorial Park Restroom

The Branch County Memorial Park and Campground is located right on Messenger Lake, in Coldwater and covers about 30 acres. Obtained in the year 1964, the park offers cabin rentals, picnic facilities, camping, pavilion rental and a boat launch area.

Community input indicated that community members and visitors of the park wanted a restroom that was located closer to the beach area. The original restroom can only be accessed from the beach via a flight of stairs up a hill and was not an accessible option for everyone.

Spicer Group was hired by Branch County to provide grant administration, architectural engineering, design, and construction administration services for the project.

The project was awarded a grant from the DNR Land and Water Conservation Fund for $135,000.

Spicer Group designed the new structure which is an 18’ x 26’ universally accessible restroom facility with three exterior changing stalls. The building also has an outdoor drinking fountain and shower, along with a pathway that connects it to other areas of the park.
