Studio 23

Studio 23, also known as The Arts Center in downtown Bay City, Michigan, is a creative outlet for many local members of the community. Their goal is to keep inspiring people through accessible art and art education. This charity group receives and raises funds to continue the work at their center. Studio 23 has numerous art exhibits that are continuously changing, and they also partake in community activities such as Art Around the City and Chalk Walk Art Festival. Additionally, the studio offers art classes for adults and youth. 

Studio 23 is located on North Water Street, right on the Saginaw River. Spicer Group was hired to partake in renovations for the building which involved architecture and design work. Prior to any designing, Spicer Group did extensive research which included documenting existing building conditions, reviewing building codes, and coming up with structural needs to be included in the renovations.

During the design phase, Spicer Group came up with a layout for the building which included a gallery, upper-level offices, and kitchenette. Modifications and adjustments were made at the client’s request. Once the designs were completed, Spicer Group also provided construction administration services for the studio.
