Traffic Signal Modernization: Washtenaw and Monroe Counties
Spicer Group provided full construction engineering to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for upgrades and modernization to traffic signals in nine locations throughout Washtenaw and Monroe Counties for the MDOT Brighton TSC. This project included the demolition of the previous traffic signals and construction of the new traffic signals. It also included the construction of sidewalk ADA ramps and electrical upgrades for the utilities at the traffic signal locations to bring equipment past it’s useful life expectancy up to current standards. These upgrades also included radar vehicle detection presences stop bar detection system and radar vehicle dilemma zone detector system. All of these upgrades enhance the safety of these intersections for the motoring public.
Spicer Group’s team provided project administration, meeting coordination and attendance, inspection, and material quality testing and reporting. These projects took nearly a year to complete in all locations, with daily, on-site inspection and reporting provided by the Spicer Group team.
