Karegnondi Pipeline

For the construction of the new $300 million Karegnondi Pipeline that connected Lake Huron to the Genesee County Water Treatment Plant, Spicer Group worked closely with the Intercounty Drainage Board, Karegnondi Water Authority (KWA), Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, and Environmental Permitting Agency to assist with managing all of the crucial environmental permitting procedures. The KWA invested $20 million into drainage infrastructure to enhance drains, streams and wetlands the pipeline would run through. The team from Spicer Group streamlined the design and permitting process related to the pipeline crossing sensitive wetlands and numerous watercourses, which saved a significant amount of design time and permitting review efforts for such a complex project.
