Woodland Road Bridge Replacement
The Woodland Road Bridge over the Maple River in Emmet County boarders Lake Kathleen to the north and is surrounded by undeveloped woodlands to the south and west. In collaboration with the Emmet County Road Commission, Spicer Group oversaw the management and design of a three-span, 70-foot-long timber bridge to replace four 72-inch CMP culverts situated beneath Woodland Road, downstream from Lake Kathleen. This initiative was a crucial component of the broader Lake Kathleen Dam removal project. Spicer Group's involvement encompassed a range of tasks, including permitting, hydraulic analysis, timber pile and superstructure design, plan preparation, specifications, bidding, and construction administration. The total construction costs amounted to $165,000, and the bridge was successfully completed in the spring of 2019.
