Maple Street Bridge
Originally constructed in 1964, the Maple Street bascule bridge in Manistee serves as a vital transportation artery over the Manistee River, boasting two lanes of two-way traffic along with pedestrian sidewalks. In 2021, extensive maintenance and repair works were undertaken by the City of Manistee, in collaboration with Spicer Group, to ensure its continued functionality and safety. This project, funded primarily by grants from the Michigan Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration, involved various tasks such as structural steel repairs, concrete deck patching, and electrical system upgrades. The successful completion of this project not only addressed immediate maintenance needs but also bolstered the bridge's resilience for years to come, solidifying its role as a crucial piece of Manistee's infrastructure.
