Basic structural analysis and design of projects of all material types (steel, concrete, masonry, and wood)
Ability to track loads through structural systems to determine load path and critical structural elements
Learn about bridge design and bridge load rating calculations
Develop Civil 3D and advanced AutoCAD skills

On-the-job experience you will acquire:
Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Work closely with CAD Designers to develop knowledge to produce construction documents related to structural and bridge engineering
Third and Fourth Year of Internship
Skills you will acquire:
The ability to provide analysis and design for new rehabilitation of all types of highway structures
The ability to complete bridge load ratings for standard highway bridges using AASHTO BrR software with minimal guidance
Learn advanced techniques in RISA and 3D Modeling
Training certifications you will acquire:
Bentley Open Bridge Design
On-the-job experience you will acquire:
Prepare project development reports, type selection studies, construction drawings, project special provisions/specifications, estimate of costs, and other project documents
Perform basic calculations to analyze and design individual building components using RISA 3D or other analysis software
Complete existing condition reports for bridge inspection and bridge scoping projects
