Midland Township Park Improvements

Midland Township received a $98,100 Michigan Department of Natural Resources Land and Water Conservation Fund grant to develop it’s 24-acre park along Poseyville Road on land that surrounds the Township Hall. These improvements included a six-foot-wide, half-mile, multi-use path, bench and interpretive sign, and a picnic pavilion with picnic tables. The path connects with the Poseyville Road path, which is part of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail. It also connects to the Chippewa Trail which goes to the Chippewa Nature Center.

The project also included construction of a 24-foot by 48-foot pavilion with a concrete floor, picnic tables, a bench, and interpretive sign. All improvements are universally accessible. Spicer Group assisted the Township with the grant application, administration, and provided professional engineering services for the design, bidding assistance, and construction administration on the improvement project.
