Cass River Water Trail - Davis Park Improvements
Davis Park in Bridgeport Charter Township was awarded a grant from the Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund for $121,100 with a $51,900 match to develop a universally accessible canoe/kayak launch. The launch provided an access site to the Cass River Water Trail which stretches 37.5 miles from the M-46 bridge in Sanilac, Vassar, west into the Saginaw River at Wickes Park. Spicer Group partnered with Bridgeport Charter Township, the Downtown Development Authority, Cass River Greenways, and other local units to capitalize on this location and provide more recreational opportunities. Along with the accessible canoe/kayak launch the park improvements also included an ADA accessible floating dock, ADA accessible parking lot and accessible pathways to connect the new improvements along the river to the parking lot. Spicer Group provided grant administration, design, bidding, and construction administration services during this project.
