Clintwood Park Day Camp

Spicer Group was hired by Independence Township to provide professional architect and design services for the Clintonwood Park Day Camp Building. The building is located near the back of the park in Clarkston, Michigan which is about 35 miles north of Detroit and 55 miles from Saginaw. The Park serves as a base for many activities and events throughout the year with its pavilion, splash pad, tennis courts, basketball court, and picnic areas. 

The Day Camp Building includes a pavilion, bathrooms, and garage style storage area which was modernized to be more accessible and available. Spicer Group services made changes that included wheelchair access, a family restroom, and outdoor changing areas. The interior also underwent design changes to keep restrooms up to code and enclosing the overhang off the building. The front of the building is a great place that camp employees use for storing supplies and enrolling students which had several small and detailed renovations. 

Spicer Group made up multiple designs and then preformed frequent site visits throughout construction to oversee the progress and ensure proper procedures are being followed. The goal was for more people to be able to enjoy the building and have several more convenient features added that will improve the experience of the park.
