Owosso Public Schools Performing Arts Center Improvements

Since 2001, Spicer Group has worked with Owosso Public Schools to provide professional architectural and engineering design services to improve and upgrade their existing school facilities and infrastructures. Through this working relationship, significant improvements to the district’s high school, middle school, and elementary schools have been implemented and completed. These capital improvements are supported by a millage-financed sinking fund that allows up to $1.5 million in construction costs per year.  

In 2018, one of the projects Spicer Group assisted with was the complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering design for renovations to Owosso High School’s performing arts center. This 32,000-square-foot building seats 1,000 spectators and has a stage large enough to hold 200 band members. The MEP improvements on this project included lighting and power systems upgrades, plumbing upgrades, replacements of the boiler-chiller, ductwork, sound attenuation, vibration control, and temperature control system.
