CAD TECHNICIAN II (WATER RESOURCES)

  • This position is for a full-time, experienced CAD Technician in our Water Resources Group located in the St. Johns office. Looking for a highly motivated individual capable of working independently or on large project teams developing AutoCAD deliverables for civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will be using design and drafting standards, reference manuals, and will work as a team member preparing design documents.

  • • Performs technical drafting support for assigned projects with some supervision according to established standards and procedures

    • Prepares engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineer and design information (verbal instruction and notes) using CADD software programs

    • Has a working knowledge of engineering technology in a specific field

    • Performs work as assigned from sketches, verbal instructions, and notes

    • Maintains current knowledge of design and drafting procedures in specialty field

    • Understands and follows the company's standard CADD procedures for layering and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout

    • Develops, modifies, and/or reviews drawings according to established standards

    • Performs quantity take-offs for cost estimate development

    • Coordinates with outside utility companies and municipalities to gather required information necessary for design

    Physical presence is an essential function of this job.

  • • High school diploma or GED required

    • High school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience

    • Experience as a drafter with at least 3 years of computer-aided drafting

 

CAD TECHNICIAN I (WATER RESOURCES)

  • This position is for a full-time, entry-level CAD Technician in our Water Resources Group located in the St. Johns office. Looking for a highly motivated individual capable of working independently or on large project teams developing AutoCAD deliverables for civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will be using design and drafting standards, reference manuals, and will work as a team member preparing design documents.

  • • Works under close and frequent supervision

    • Provides non-technical, routine, and basic support for assigned projects using a computer as an aid to drafting

    • Completed detailed drawings from sketches, plans, and specifications with written and verbal instructions using computer-aided drafting programs according to company standards

    • Revises or changes drawings, traces, and/or copies existing drawings and completes simple calculations with specific instructions

    • Maintains a neat and orderly work area, which will allow access to project information to other team members

    • Works on special projects as directed by project manager, department head, or principals

    • Completes support work for engineers and designers

    • Performs drawing reproduction and/or filing duties

    Physical presence is an essential function of this job.

  • • Minimum of high school diploma or GED required

    • Minimum experience of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience

 

TECHNICIAN II

  • This position is for a full-time Technician position within our Traverse City office. Looking for a highly motivated individual capable of working independently or on large project teams developing AutoCAD deliverables for civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will be using design and drafting standards, reference manuals, and will work as a team member preparing design documents.

  • • Experienced Drafter/CADD Operator performing technical drafting support for assigned projects with some supervision according to established standards and procedures

    • Prepares engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information (verbal instructions and notes) using AutoCAD Civil 3D software

    • Has a working knowledge of engineering technology in a specific field

    • Performs work as assigned from sketches, verbal instructions, and notes

    • Maintains current knowledge of design and drafting procedures in specialty field

    • Understands and follows the company’s standard CADD procedures for layering and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout
