Clearwater Memorial Bridge Survey - Idaho
Spicer Group survey staff trailered a survey vessel 2,100 miles to western Idaho to assist Horrock Engineers, Inc. with creating a full topographic survey of the Clearwater Memorial Bridge over the Clearwater River as part of a multiyear project to replace the bridge and surrounding roadways. The 750-foot-long bridge was originally opened in 1951 and dedicated to World War II veterans but was in need of major repair. Spicer Group staff used the survey vessel equipped with multibeam sonar and a Leica Pegasus: Two mobile mapping platform. Data was collected above and below the waterline, along the riverbanks, and underside of the bridge including the bridge substructure. Horrock Engineers, Inc. collected survey data of the bridge and surrounding roadways, and that data was merged together to create a surface model and topographic survey to support all design activities.
