Monroe County Stormwater Asset Management Plan

Spicer Group was hired by Monroe County to do an asset management inventory of all of its county drainage systems and to build a digital GIS database of the entire system for reference. With this project, Spicer engineers gathered current and historical records of the storm drain systems within Monroe County and worked to digitize those documents to build the base of the asset management map. Spicer Group has been using these documents to update and verify existing maps and to train county staff to use the new GIS system to manage their drainage assets and identify any problem or water quality concern areas within the system. Also, as part of this grant, Spicer Group has worked with Monroe County Drain Commissioner staff to develop, fine tune, and implement GIS collector software for use in the field.
